Old Greens
I don't know if this question has been brought up before but why only give 35 gold for a green? seems it should be somewhere around 1k or 2k,its not like u can buy them from the merchant.Might be silly but alot of hard time goes in for a green, and people are not buying them hardly.just wondering if someone could throw this around a little.

The merch price is always low for greens. If you want more, sell it to another player.

They have been dropping since the Sorrow's Furnace came out and have been dropping for people for quite some time now. They have lost a lot of their appeal because they are fairly common now and people have moved on to the new stuff. Sort of like anything. A few hold their value, but it is tough to find a customer.

Yeah, there are people that wtb unwanted greens for 1k around occasionally. But id rather the green not have a merch price, so i don't accidentally sell them. I also wondered why they chose 35g for merch price though:P

If you identify them, they're worth a bit more...

Anyway, yeah it is kinda random at 35g, but A.net never intended for greens to be used as a way to make money. They were meant to make cheap version of perfect weapons available to everybody. If you could get 1-2k for selling a green to a merchant, it would create (abeit, a small) flucuation in the economy due to the increase in gold created in the system. |

I can see the OP's point. Make them 500g then - around the level of a gold item with a high merchant value. Either that or make them 0g (unsellable) at the merchant.

I give away unwanted greens to guildies. Usually make a game of it like 'first one to find me and click on me gets the green - I'm somewhere in the Crystal Desert' or somesuch. I just can't be bothered to try and sell them.

Cheap greens can be a good source of vitamin C...umm...I mean Hero weapons, since a lot have +30 or +60 health mods on them. The Scar Eater is a perfect example, it's easy to farm on your own, or it's cheap to buy, and Flunkoro has a good, solid staff.
Most of my unwanted greens go to Heroes. |
